The Frampton Bar marking grills have been developed to fill a need in the Food Processing Industry for a grill designed to give a griddle effect to regular or irregular thickness products, as diverse as chicken fillets, steaks, burgers, fish, both whole and portions, vegetables such as sliced peppers, onions, courgettes etc.

Both the diameter and pitch of the marking bars can be specified to give the required bar mark effect. The bars can be from 5mm diameter up to 12mm square and their pitches can range from 10mm to 25mm.

The marking bars form part of a conveyor which passes from one end of the grilling chamber to the other. The bars are heated by passing through a heating chamber beneath the grill. The temperature of the elements in this chamber are temperature controlled and can be run from 50 to 720C and are controlled to within +/- 3% of the controller set point. An additional set of elements are mounted beneath the bar marking belt on it's bar marking run and face upwards. These elements have their own temperature controller and are used, if required, to seal or sear the lower side of the product.

Close mesh wire belts are used to transfer the product onto and off the bar marking belt. This not only allows the product to be transferred cleanly and undamaged but also ensures that the operators are kept away from the bar marking belt and other hot parts of the machine.

Some heavily marinated products may require to be pre-sealed on their lower sides before bar marking to prevent sticking. In which case, the inlet mesh belt is replaced with a PTFE belt and additional heaters are fitted beneath the PTFE belt to seal the product.

If the upper side of the product is required to be sealed, then a set of heating elements can be mounted over the bar marking belt. These would have their own heat control and thus can be turned on or off as required.
